![]() ![]() Students will not be permitted to “skip” assignments, and must meet the minimum passing grade for each assignment based on the Christina School District Grading Scale. Emphasis will be placed on course completion and progress towards graduation as the main indicators of success.Students will be held to the same academic standards as their grade level peers, and will follow the same academic calendar and district policies, including the Student Code of Conduct.Course curriculum will be offered on a college preparatory level using district approved curriculum which follows the State of Delaware content standards.The goal will be for all students to earn a minimum of 8 credits per school year. Students will take four courses each semester with flexible pacing that allows them to accelerate on material they excel in, while taking extra time for material they may be struggling with.Students will be working independently, with teacher support in each class/course. Students will use their class time for support, help and guidance from their teacher as they make progress toward their daily/weekly goals. The goal is not to have both ‘Roomers and Zoomers’ in any given class period, but have CSDVA classes scheduled separately from the comprehensive school classrooms to maximize the learning approaches best suited for the virtual learning environment. Teachers will have Virtual Academy Students on their schedule.Students will have teacher support for each class, however, all teachers and students participating will be fully virtual. Due to the complex nature of high school scheduling, involving multiple teachers, differentiated core classes, and unique electives, the CSDVA may not have all of the courses and opportunities that are available in the comprehensive school, but the program will have a variety of options to ensure that graduation requirements can be met. ![]() Technology Support will be provided online and in-person by Christina School District teachers, counselors, and administrators. Students are expected to follow attendance requirements, including working for a minimum number of hours each day. ![]() Students in the CSDVA will be taught by a licensed educator and will be held to the same academic calendar, academic standards, as well as, all of the CSD Board of Education and school specific policies, such as the Student Manual.Ĭhristina School District will work with students and parents to ensure they have access to a computer or tablet and reliable internet service. The CSDVA is a unique program and may not have all of the course work, programs, services, and supports that can be found in our comprehensive schools.ĬSDVA is aimed at serving students and families who prefer an on-line instructional experience with students learning within their home. The CSDVA is in response to the number of families who have indicated an interest for their child(ren) to continue their education remotely. CSDVA will offer engaging learning tailored to a virtual platform with CSD teachers trained in online instruction, providing a powerful and personalized learning experience.
